DESCRIPTION:

Level-up your doughnut recipe using Ferna high-quality ingredients and some bacon bits on top that perfectly complements each other. Sweet and salty treats in one!

INGREDIENTS:

For the doughnut:
4 cups or 500 grams            All Purpose Flour
1⁄2 tsp or 2 grams                  Primera Baking Powder
2 tsp or 10 grams                 Eagle Instant Dry Yeast
1⁄2 tsp or 3 grams                  Ferna Iodized Salt
1⁄2 cup or 100 grams             Sugar
1⁄2 cup or 120 ml                   Water
1⁄4 cup or 60 ml                     Evaporated Milk
1⁄4 cup + 3 tbsp or 90 grams   Gold Coast Butter Oil Substitute
2 pieces                                Eggs

For the Maple Glaze and Toppings:
1 cup or 150 grams                Powdered Sugar
5 tbsp or 100 grams               Ferna Pancake Syrup – Maple Flavor
2 tbsp or 30 ml                       Evaporated Milk
200 grams                             Bacon, fried and chopped

PROCEDURE:

For the doughnut:
1. In a mixing bowl, sift and combine all purpose flour, baking powder, instant dry yeast, salt, and sugar.
2. Add water, milk, butter oil substitute and eggs to the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly until well combined.
3. Transfer the dough into a mixer bowl. Use a hook attachment to knead the dough for 15 minutes at medium speed or until smooth.
4. Then, transfer the dough in a greased mixing bowl and cover with cling wrap and let it rest for 1 hour.
5. After an hour, deflate the dough by rolling it out into a sheet to a thickness of at least 1⁄4 inch.
6. Using a 3” ring mold, cut into round-shaped dough. Then, using a 1” ring mold, make a hole at the center of each doughnut.
7. Set the doughnuts aside to let it rise for another 60 minutes.
8. Preheat the vegetable oil until it reaches 170oC.
9. Deep fry the doughnuts by cooking each side for 1 minute or until golden brown.

For the glaze:
1. Stir in powdered sugar to pancake syrup until well combined. Set aside.

For the assembly:
1. Pour the glaze over the doughnuts and let it drip for a minute.
2. Sprinkle chopped bacon on top and serve.
